On the 20th of July Lilian Cox and Doris Hobday celebrated their 95th birthday. From this day onwards they became the oldest living twins in Britain and they marked this prolific event by creating social media accounts on not just Facebook but also on Twitter and Instagram.
All it took for the twins to achieve local stardom was to invite the world into their life and they are simply loving the attention.
Apparently being recognized on the street and asked for photographs is a delightfully brightening addition to their days.
No sex at all or just no sex now
When the twins were asked how they were able to survive and thrive to such an age, Doris was quick to attribute her longevity to not having a husband and a whole lot of Guinness.
But this is not to say that the twins have been abstinent their whole lives. Doris was in fact married for 65 happy years. Lilian, on the other hand, had 5 children in her time culminating in 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Taking only this bit of information, it would seem that the twins only point to the virtues of a lack of sex in their later years.
Jason Statham appeals to the old and young alike
Delightful Doris and Lil may not be having sex at the moment but that does not make them exempt from the charms of Jason Statham. Apparently, they went to watch the new Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw together and had a whole lot to say about the leading man.
Not only is he fantastic and a nice lad, Lil allegedly has some undisclosed thoughts on what it would be like to spend a night with the muscled hunk.
If one of their Facebook clips hadn’t interrupted Lil midsentence during her interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, we may have found out what randy thoughts lie beneath the smile.
A day in the life of 95
While a lot of us cannot even fathom making it to 95 let alone living a full and decent life at such an age, Doris and Lil are certainly on the move and are only too happy to talk about it.
If you had to head over to one of their pages you will find the ladies partaking in something called chair yoga.
They also post reviews such as their charming response to their new smartphones. These are not ladies that will be held back by the times.
Best friends to the end
Twins truly do share a very different bond to other siblings. They come into this world together and, if Doris and Lil are any examples, they leave it the same way.
These identical twins may not live together like they did growing up in Tipton. But they do live right next door to each other.
